Abstract:Ultra-high-energy (UHE) cosmic rays (CRs) of energies ∼ (10 18 − 10 20 ) eV, accelerated in violent astrophysical environments, interact with cosmic background radiation fields via photo-hadronic processes, leading to strong attenuation.
