Ultra-High Efficient Thermal Tuning of Dielectric Optical Waveguides

Abstract: We show that high-refractive index silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) exhibits a record thermooptic coefficient (2.5×10-4 °C-1), about 30× larger than that of silica, enabling the realization of low-power-consumption thermally-tunable dielectric photonic platforms.
