“…Regular cyclists, particularly those who receive higher levels of vibration e.g. off road cyclists, are at risk of upper limb co mpression neuropathy [15][16][17][18]. Nerve injury is more frequently seen in the ulnar nerve than the med ian nerve, [19,20] with symptoms including weakness of grip and occasionally numbness of the fourth and fifth fingers [21].…”

“…Eine beidseitige Schädigung ist nicht ungewöhnlich; von 18 in der Literatur zugänglichen Berichten mit Radfahrerlähmung wiesen 10 einen beidseitigen (4,5,(11)(12)(13)16), 8 einen einseitigen Befall (1,5,(9)(10)(11)(12)(13)(14) auf. “…One of the sites of ulnar nerve compression is a fibroosseous tunnel at the wrist known as Guyon's canal (tunnel, lodge or space). Guyon's canal has also been termed canalis ulnaris, [1] the distal ulnar tunnel, [2] carpal ulnar neurovascular space, [3] pisoretinacular space, [4] or the pisohamate tunnel. [5] It was first described as a space at the base of the hypothenar eminence by the French surgeon Jean Casimir Felix Guyon in 1861 who became interested in a small protrusion on the palmar aspect of his wrist when he applied pressure to the hypothenar eminence.…”
