Ülkemizde ve Dünyada Ayva Islahı Çalışmaları

Abstract

ÖzAyva Rosales takımı, Rosaceae familyası, Pomoideae alt familyasında yer alan (Cydonia oblonga Miller.), insanoğlunun bildiği en eski meyve türlerinden biridir. Bu türün orijin merkezinin İran, Türkmenistan, batıda ise Anadolu ve Yunanistan olduğu tahmin edilmektedir. Türkiye, Dünya ayva üretiminde lider konumdadır ve gerek ülkemizde gerekse dünyada; son yıllarda oluşan talep artışı ve bunun yanı sıra hasat ve depolama kolaylığıyla birlikte pazarda iyi fiyat bulması, ayva üretim alanlarının ve farklı sektörlere yönelik özelliklere sahip ayva çeşitlerinin artışını da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu bağlamda, çeşit geliştirme çalışmalarında seleksiyon ve melezleme ıslahı yöntemleri kullanılmakta olup meyve kalitesi, verim, tanen içeriği, hasat önü dökümü ve ateş The Studies of Quince Breeding in Our Country and The World AbstractThe quince, Cydonia oblonga, that is member of the family Rosaceae, subfamily Pomoideae, one of the oldest fruits known to man kind. It is estimated that the center of origin is Iran, Turkmenistan, in the west side; Anatolia and Greece. Turkey is leader in the world quince production. Both in our country and in the world as a result of increasing in demand, harvest and storage facilities and finding the best price on the market, quince production areas has increased and quince varieties for different sectors has also been brought. In this context, selection and hybridization breeding methods are using for development new varieties and quality of the fruit, yield, grain content, pre-harvest and resistance to diseases such as fire blight etc. is important properities for breeding focus. In breeding studies took in place in our country, in the world selection and hybridization breeding studies have been made. In this rewiev, results of research conducted on the development of quince cultivars and rootstocks for different purpose has been given.
