Ulcerative colitis. To the 180th anniversary of the description by Karl Rokytansky

Abstract: The article describes the main historical milestones in the description and study of ulcerative colitis from the time of Hippocrates to the present day. The first description of the morphological picture of non-specific ulcerative colitis (NUC) was presented by the Viennese pathologist Karl Rokitansky in 1842.
