Burn is heat transfer in which the source can be direct or indirect contact with fire, electricity, friction chemicals or radiation. It can cause damage of skin tissue even in a state of multisystem injury leading to serious disorders. Systemic effects and mortality caused by burn is generally determined by the extent and depth of affected skin. Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) contains carbohydrates, phosphorus, calcium, vitamin C, vitamin B1, protein and iron. Furthermore, substances contained in cassava are able to give effect to the re-epithelialization of skin damaged cell tissue due to burns. The aim of this study was to find out the cassava tuber extract in gel preparation formulation and the effectiveness of burn healing in rabbits. This study was an experimental study to examine the concentration of cassava tuber extract gel formula which is the most effective in healing superficial burns of degree 4 in male rabbits. From the observations of giving gel preparations once a day by using positive control comparison (Bioplaceton) could be concluded that the extract of cassava provided healing which was not significantly different from the positive control.

Wounds are pathological conditions that occur in skin tissue and mucous membranes of other tissues. Mango leaves (Mangifera indica L.) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins which have an effect on wound healing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of mango leaf extract gel concentration (Mangifera indica L.) on wound healing in rabbits. The test animals were divided into five treatments, namely positive control, negative control, and gel preparation with 3 variations of extract concentration, namely formula I (10%), formula II (15%), and formula III (20%). This research is an experimental study with observations for 14 days. The statistical test uses the Anova test and the Post-Hoc test. The average healing time of the positive control and negative control groups with mango leaf extract gel (Mangifera indica L.) concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% had a significant difference with a sig 0.000 result (P<0.05). Manalagi mango leaf extract gel (Mangifera indica L.) provides the best wound healing effect at a concentration of 20%.

Recently, burn injuries have become a major cause of morbidity and mortality in low-middleincome countries. Burn injuries are tissue loss caused by contact with heat sources such as hot water, fire, chemicals, electricity, and radiation. According to the WHO Global Burden Disease, in 2017 an estimated 180.000 people died from burn injuries. Ethanol extract of green algae (EEGA) contains compounds that potentially heal burn injuries. The research was conducted to obtain a gel formulation from EEGA and test its burn wound healing properties in mice (Mus musculus). Forty-five mice were divided into five groups: I (negative control), II (treated with gel base), III (positive control, Bioplacenton gel), IV (5% EEGA gel), and V (10% EEGA gel). Wound diameters and description scores were observed every fourth, seventh, and fourteenth day, and the derived data were analyzed in the SPSS program with the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and least significance difference (LSD) test. The results indicate that EEGA can be formulated into gels with physical properties compliant with the requirements of the dosage form. Further, it was found that Groups IV and V showed significant reductions in wound description scores and diameters (p<0.05). In conclusion, gels containing 5% and 10% EEGA possess burn wound healing properties.
