“…Based on Figure 1, the antibacterial activity of the fresh extract of P. canescens against E. coli resulted in a clear inhibition zone without any single bacterial colony, which was significantly different against dry infusion, fresh infusion, dry infusion, and dry, infusion with lime added, this indicates that the antibacterial activity of the extract fresh P. canescens to E. coli is bacteriostatic. There is a porin protein in the outer membrane of the cell wall of E. coli which functions as a channel for the ry and the d exit of the active compound so that tso that compound in the fresh extract of P. canescens will easily enter and damage cell enzyme activity which causes damage to E. coli cells [13].…”

“…Filtrate was evaporated, 2 drops of acetic anhydride and 2 ml of chloroform were added to the residue then transferred to a test tube, and 1 ml of sulfuric acid. It was observed that the boundary of the two layers formed a brownish-red or purple ring, while the solution at the top turned green or purple indicating the presence of steroids or triterpenoids (Rijayanti, 2014). Identification of Flavanoids 0.5 g of extract was added to 10 ml aquadest, boiled for 10 minutes, and filtered.…”

“…1 g of extract was added to 100 ml of hot water and filtered. 5 ml of filtrate is added to 1% iron (III) chloride solution until a dark blue or blackish green color is formed, indicating the presence of tannin group compounds (Rijayanti, 2014).…”

“…Denaturasi protein sel adalah proses antibakteri yang digunakan oleh bahan kimia fenol untuk menghancurkan kuman. Gangguan permeabilitas dinding sel dan membran dapat menyebabkan ketidakseimbangan ion dan makromolekul di dalam sel sehingga menyebabkan lisis [17]. Karena reaktivitasnya terhadap membran sel, inaktivasi enzim, dan penghambatan fungsi materi genetik, tanin bersifat antibakteri.…”
