Über die cytogenetische Wirkung dreier Monoterpene, eines Anthrachinons und eines Tropolons auf die Mitose vonVicia faba

Abstract

The cytogenetic effects of three terpenes, a tropolone, and an anthraquinone on mitosing Vicia [aba cells were investigated. The three terpenes (e + ~) thujone, thujylic alcohol, sabinene), and the tropolone (~-thujaplicin), induce partial or complete failure of the spindle apparatus. In addition, the terpenes induce tripolar mitoses; the tropolone and the terpenes (except sabinene) induce chromosomal stickiness; thujaplicin, thujone and the anthraquinone (aloe-emodin-glucoside) induce chromosomal aberrations. The latter in particular causes subchromatid breaks and rearrangements. The present results and the extensive data in the literature indicate that the effects of the tropolones and terpenes can be related to their structure. No such relationship could be deduced for the anthraquinones.Im Rahmen einer Untersuchungsreihe fiber eine m6gliche cytogenetische Wirkung von Inhaltsstoffen pflanzlicher Abortiva der Volksmedizin wurden mehrere Anthrachinone, Monoterpene und ein Tropolon geprfift (SctiMID, 1967). In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird fiber jene Agentien berichtet, die sich bei den gegebenen Bedingungen als mutagen erwiesen.
