Über den Zusammenhang zwischen der mittleren quadratischen Auslenkung 〈u2〉 der Atome im Kristallgitter und der spezifischen Wärmecvfür Zink

Abstract: The mean-square displacement of atoms in the Zn lattice, , and the specific heat, cv, have been calculated as functions of temperature with the help of the Debye frequency spectrum as well as with the help of the lattice vibrational spectrum calculated from inelastic neutron intensity data. The results are compared with experimental values and with the results of calculations of (u 2) using the frequency spectrum derived from thermodynamical data. EinleitungF fir Kristalle, die nur aus einer Atomsorte best… Show more

“…Paying regard to Fig. 4 of Rossmanith (1980), the harmonic parameters a2o and/3oo should be calculated being due only to the harmonic part of the thermal vibrations and the anharmonic part of the thermal vibration, described by the anharmonic parameters Ot33, 0(40, /320, ~/00, and should fill in the gap between curve 5 of Fig. 4 (calculated mean-square displacement in harmonic approximation) and the experimental values given by Skelton & Katz (19681. Therefore, in model (b) the harmonic part of (u~) and (u2e) was calculated approximately.…”
