Tyrosine protein phosphorylation in murine B lymphocytes by stimulation with lipopolysaccharide fromPorphyromonas gingivalis

Abstract: The molecular effect of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from porphyromonas gingivalis as well as Escherichia coli on the tyrosine protein phosphorylation in the splenic B lymphocytes from LPS-responsive C3H/HeN and LPS-hyporesponsive C3H/HeJ mice was examined. P. gingivalis LPS induced tyrosine phosphorylation of selected membrane proteins that included the phosphoproteins with apparent molecular masses of 24.8 kDa and 26.0 kDa (p24.8 and p26.) in the B lymphocytes from both strains of mice, while E. coli LPS induce… Show more

“…These antibodies were used in an immunodiffusion test against SAA and RRA in an agar 1% gel with 0.01 M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.2). For further antigenic characterisation of SAA, a Western blot analysis was performed with the antibodies, as described previously [24,25]. Brie¯y, SAA (2 ìg of protein) was separated by SDS-PAGE (12.5% gel).…”

“…It was demonstrated that Bacteroides lipopolysaccharide and lipid A, derived from different bacterial species that are similar to Bacteroides fragilis , such as P. gingivalis (formerly Bacteroides gingivalis ), Prevotella intermedia (formerly Bacteroides intermedius ), Prevotella oralis (formerly Bacteroides oralis ), Prevotella loescheii (formerly Bacteroides loescheii ) and Prevotella corporis (formerly Bacteroides corporis ), activate B lymphocytes and macrophages of C3H/HeJ mice (6, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20–23, 25–27, 49, 52, 53). We also reported that P. gingivalis lipopolysaccharide and lipid A have mitogenic effects and induce cytokine production by B lymphocytes from C3H/HeJ mice (12, 40, 41, 45).…”
