Abstract: Tyrosinases (TYRs) are copper‐containing metalloenzymes present in a large diversity of species. In human, hTYR is responsible for pivotal steps in melanogenesis, catalysing the oxidation of l‐tyrosine to l‐DOPA and further to dopaquinone.
