A novel molecular sieve membrane was synthesized using graphene oxide/single-walled carbon nanotubes (GO/SWCNTs). The composite was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller-specific surface area analyzers. The results revealed that laminar GO was interwoven with tubular SWCNTs and the carbon nanotubes were attached onto the surface of GO or interspersed among GO to form a three-dimensional structure. Moreover, the interlayer spacing of GO/SWCNTs increased to 0.826 nm. On condition that the inlet pressure of N2 was 0.10 MPa and the temperature was 323 K, the N2 permeability of GO/SWCNTs was 1595 Barrer. With increasing temperature, the N2 permeability decreased while it increased with the inlet pressure. When the inlet pressure of CO was 0.10 MPa and the temperature was 323 K, the CO permeability was 109 Barrer. At the temperature of 323 K, the selectivities of N2/CO and CO2/CO were 32.8 and 37, respectively. These results indicated that GO/SWCNTs may be a promising molecular sieve for gas separation.

We explored the potential of heteroatom-doped graphene oxide (GO)-based electrodes for energy storage. Binder-free electrodes were synthesized using the hydrothermal method, where doping of GO and its electrode development was achieved simultaneously in one step. GO was doped with nitrogen (NGO) and boron (BGO) using urea and boric acid as nitrogen (N) and boron (B) sources, respectively. In addition, GO was also co-doped with B and N (BNGO). The atomic percentages of nitrogen and boron in NGO and BGO were found out to be 6.13% and 17.94%, respectively, as revealed by XPS. The BNGO had atomic percentages of boron and nitrogen as 23.76% and 3.64%, respectively. Electrodes were electrochemically characterized in 3 M KOH electrolyte by employing cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD). CV analysis revealed that NGO and BNGO exhibited superior charge storage capacity with a high specific capacitance of 855 and 811 F g À1 , respectively, at 1 m Vs À1 . CV data were further analyzed to identify and quantify charge storage mechanism, and it suggested that binder-free-doped electrodes exhibited diffusioncontrolled charge storage as dominant behavior. Thus, our results demonstrate an approach to dope GO and develop high-performance, binder-free electrodes for supercapacitor applications in a facile single-step hydrothermal method.

A novel carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and reduced holey graphene oxide film (RHGOF) sandwich structure has been fabricated to enhance its electrochemical properties. CNTs are grown by a catalyst assisted chemical vapor deposition technique, interpenetrated between the RHGOF layers. A RHGOF/CNTs hybrid film is used as a binder-free supercapacitor electrode. The grown CNTs in the graphene layers structure act as spacers and bridges to increase the counductivity of RHGOF, while the grown CNTs on the surfaces of the graphene contribute to increase the specific surface area of RHGOF. The results demonstrate that the synthesized porous, flexible and binder free hybrid electrode has advantages of higher ion diffusion rate, longer diffusion length and larger ion accessible surface area as compared to the pristine graphene which results in an extra ordinary galvanostatic charge-discharge specific capacitance of 557 F/g at a current density of 0.5 A/g, with excellent rate capabilities and superior cyclic stabilities.In recent era, environment adaptability, portability and compatibility of electronics, hybrid electric vehicles are becoming challenging issues. Energy storage devices having high performance are the part and parcel of these aforementioned devices 1 . Because of its promising adventages, supercapacitor is one of the fascinating energy storage device, such as fast dynamic response, high power density, longer life span and good capability rate 2,3 . Therefore, explicit studies of the characteristics of supercapcitor electrode materials are very essential components that ultimately affect its electrochemical properties 1,4-7 . Most recently, researchers are trying their best to prepare flexible type of electrode materials possessing good cyclic stability, high performance output in terms of charge-discharge rates and specific capacitance.Graphene (GR), being a 2D nano-structured material, has already been acknowledged as an attractive material for supercapacitor electrode. As a single thick sheet of carbon atoms, due to the numerous profound physic-chemical properties,it has been presaged for transfiguring a wide range of technological area [8][9][10][11] . Moreover, it has high unique mechanical flexibility intrinsic electrical conductivity, theoretical gravimetric capacitance of about 550 F/g and remarkably large theoretical surface area of 2630 m 2 /g [11][12][13] . On the contrary, due to the extended π-conjugation in the basal plane, pristine GR has van der Waals forces and π-π interaction. Thus, GR sheets are stacked with each other under these effects. Their irreversible agglomeration not only hinders the ion diffusion rate, but also decreases accessible surface area and consequent reduction in the gravimetric capacitance 14-17 .
