Two port CPW‐fed MIMO antenna with wide bandwidth and high isolation for future wireless applications

Abstract: A compact size, coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed two-antenna multiple input multiple output (MIMO) with high isolation and excellent impedance matching operating in n77/n78/n79 5G NR sub-6 GHz/Wi-Fi-5/V2X/DSRC/ Wi-Fi-6/INSAT-C is proposed for future wireless applications. Each antenna element is a CPW-fed antenna type composed of an "inverted-A," "y-shaped,"and "small extended stub" structures. The two-antennas are deployed in the same orientation at an edge-to-edge distance of 0.06λ (λ represents free-space wavel… Show more

“…Also, combining decoupling structures with other techniques such as a matching network in [9] and an interdigital capacitor in [10] provides improved isolation levels. Authors in [11,12] have implemented comb-shaped and modi ed T-shaped ground planes for isolation enhancement. Utilizing defected ground structures (DGS) as proposed in [13,14] for increment in isolation levels is also popularly adapted.…”

“…Further, a combined methodology of implementing both CMA and metamaterials proposed in [31][32][33] suggests a unique approach to improving isolation levels within MIMO antenna elements. The designs proposed in [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] exhibit a high level of isolation levels (S 12 >-20dB) along with wide bandwidth; however, structures are quite complex and bulky. The technique implemented in [13] does improve isolation level to -15dB but has a large area, whereas in [14], high isolation is achieved within a narrow bandwidth.…”

“…4 A number of printed MIMO antennas have been suggested in the literature. [5][6][7][8][9][10] Through the neutralization line, 5 defective grounding structure, 6 and the use of directional antenna elements, 7 the inter element isolation between the elements of the MIMO configuration can be increased. The advantages of microstrip patch antennas are that they are low cost and low profile.…”
