Two phosphorylases from suspension-cultured soybeans.

Abstract: Recent studies on a-glucan phosphorylase (EC 2.4.1.1) from various plants found two principal forms of phosphorylase, i.e., cytoplasmic and chloroplastic types.1~3) In higher plant cells, several enzymesrelated to glycolysis and the oxidative pentose phosphate cycle have a dual location in the cytoplasm and plastids.4) Two distinct forms of phosphorylase were isolated from spinach leaves,1~3)
