Two-Phase System in a Rotating Cylindrical Cavity under the Transverse Vibrations

Abstract: The effect of large-amplitude translational vibrations on the dynamics of a two-phase system (light cylinder in liquid or two immiscible liquids, placed in a rotating cylindrical cavity) is studied experimentally. The experiments are run at high rotation rate, when under the action of centrifugal force the light phase is located near the rotation axis.
