Two Efficient Constructions for Biometric-Based Signature in Identity-Based Setting Using Bilinear Pairings

Abstract: It is always an attractive topic for researchers that biometric traits are used to represent the identities of users in identity-based cryptography due to their unique and inherent properties. Fuzzy identity-based signature (FIBS) and biometric identity-based signature (BIO-IBS) are both promising cryptographic primitives, where a signature generated with a private key of an identity can be verified by another identity if and only if the distance between these two identities is within a certain threshold. In t… Show more

“…The major significances of the biometric cryptosystems are more convenience, high accuracy, and accountability. Xiwei Shan et al (2021) have proposed biometric-based digital signatures to support secure authentication using bilinear key pairings. However, Amioy Kumar et al, Majid Alotaibi, Karimian et al, and Xiwei Shan et al schemes failed to resist perfect forward secrecy, impersonation, and user anonymity attacks.…”

“…Human body biometric features can be classified into external body, behavioral and internal body characteristics. Examples of external body characteristic are fingerprints [4], iris and facial [5], while examples of behavioral traits are voice [6] and signature [7]. Electrocardiogram (ECG) and electroencephalogram (EEG) are two examples of internal body features [8].…”
