Two-dimensional square-latticeS=12antiferromagnetCu(pz

Abstract: We present an experimental study of the two-dimensional S=1/2 square-lattice antiferromagnet Cu(pz)2(ClO4)2 (pz denotes pyrazine -C4H4N2) using specific heat measurements, neutron diffraction and cold-neutron spectroscopy. The magnetic field dependence of the magnetic ordering temperature was determined from specific heat measurements for fields perpendicular and parallel to the square-lattice planes, showing identical field-temperature phase diagrams. This suggest that spin anisotropies in Cu(pz)2(ClO4)2 are … Show more

“…III C. In particular, we find for the easy-plane anisotropy using expressions for ω that is in agreement with values of 2×10 −3 , 3×10 −3 , 5×10 −3 , and 5.5×10 −3 reported for this quantity in Refs. 7,8,10,12 , respectively. To plot ω 1 (H) at H > H sf in Fig.…”

“…Magnon spectrum analysis carried out in Cu(pz) 2 (ClO 4 ) 2 in neutron scattering experiment 7 gives J ≈ 18.1(4) K. The value of magnetic moment was found at T = 2.3 K and H = 0 to be 0.47(5)µ B that corresponds to the renormalized spin value of S = 0.23 (2). In accordance with the experiment, one obtains at T = 2.3 K using Eq.…”
