Two-Channel Demultiplexer Based on 1d Photonic Star Waveguides Using Defect Resonators Modes

Abstract: In this work, we give a theoretical demonstration of the possibility to realize a photonic demultiplexer. The demultiplexer consists of Y-shaped waveguides with one input line and two output lines. We consider a demultiplexer composed of a segment and two asymmetric resonators, grafted at the same position in each channel. This system creates the resonance modes that have a maximum transmission rate and low Q quality factors. To improve these results, we take each output line consisting of a periodicity of seg… Show more

“…I. Erdogan et al [8] have studied the effect of laser field on the self-polarization of a donor impurity in a finite Ga1-xAlxAs/GaAs quantum well. Furthermore, we find other researchers who studied the band structures and even the electron transport in MQWs by determining their physical properties (transmission, reflection, dispersion relation ...) using the Green's function [9], or the transfer matrix [10]. For example, we find that A. Shokri [11] studied a periodic MQWs, composed of two alternating materials, GaAs-AlGaAs.…”

“…For this, we use the interface response theory, also called the green function, which is based on cleavage and coupling operations. This theory is reviewed in several fields: electronics [19], electromagnetics [9], acoustics [18]. In our work, we use this theory for electrons in the framework of the effective mass approximation.…”

“…Moreover, CWDM demultiplexers based on photonic crystals offer significant advantages over conventional demultiplexers. These innovative devices are to exploit the unique optical properties of photonic crystals to efficiently separate signals at different wavelengths on a single optical fiber [ 8].…”

“…Recently, one-dimensional (1D) photonic periodic waveguides system filters based on the resonators in the megahertz band have been widely concerned by different authors [13,14]. Ben-Ali et al studied the transmission spectra of a onedimensional photonic periodic star waveguides system with either left-handed materials or right-handed materials for ap-plications in reflector and passband filters [15,16]. Errouas et al also proposed a new system based on electromagnetic star waveguides, which are able to select and filter one or two incoming electromagnetic waves [17].…”
