Two-center interference during the high harmonic generation in aligned O_2 molecules

Abstract: Abstract:We experimentally investigate the angular distribution and the laser intensity dependence of the two-center interference in high-order harmonic generation (HHG) from O 2 molecules by comparing with CO 2 molecules. Through the measurement of both the temporal evolution and the angular distribution of HHG, the characteristic enhancement and suppression are observed, which can be well explained by the modified interference model. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the spectral region of the constructive en… Show more

“…It should be noted that this two-center interference is absent in the HHG spectra from atoms in the single state, as well as in the coherent superposition state. This effect has been widely investigated for oneelectron [2,17,18], multi-electron [19], and vibrate [20] molecules. However, the interference effect in HHG spectra from molecules in a coherent superposition state is undiscovered.…”
