Twist-three effects in two-photon processes

Abstract: We give a general treatment of twist-three effects in two-photon reactions. We address the issue of the gauge invariance of the Compton amplitude in generalized Bjorken kinematics and relations of twist-three 'transverse' skewed parton distributions to twist-two ones and interaction dependent three-particle correlation functions. Finally, we discuss leading order evolution of twistthree functions and their impact on the deeply virtual Compton scattering.

“…However, they are affected by non-integrable singularities, which appear to LO in α s and are induced by large size quark-antiquark configurations of the produced meson [ 4]. In the case of photon leptoproduction 1/Q suppressed contributions are calculable to LO [ 60] and NLO [ 61] accuracy. In fact, they complete the azimuthal angular dependence of the cross section [ 26].…”

“…So, this effect is a particularity of the off-forward matrix element only. An interesting study using this approach will be to investigate the Wandzura-Wilczek relation [14] for the off-forward matrix elements of the transverse vector and axial vector operators in perturbation theory, for dressed quark states. We plan to undertake such studies in the near future.…”
