One of the oldest economic goals of societies around the world is to increase the welfare level of the society. For this reason, the phenomenon of economic growth has been one of the most studied subjects since history. In this work, the efficacy of production in Turkey's agricultural and industrial sectors on economic growth amongst 1980 and 2022 has been investigated. In addition, inflation and trade deficit data are included as control variables. ARDL bounds test was implemented in the work. Accordingly the outcomes of the work, in the first model, when the share of the agricultural sector in GNP increases by 1%, per capita income decreases by approximately 1.13%. A 1% increment in the inflation rate diminishes per capita income by approximately 0.18%. In the second model, the margin of the industrial sector in GNP has an affirmative efficacy on per capita income. The inflation rate, conversely, has a negatory efficacy on per capita income. When the share of the industrial sector increases by 1%, per capita income increases by approximately 4.5%. A 1% increment in the inflation rate diminishes per capita income by approximately 0.5%. The parameters related to international trade deficit are statistically insignificant.

Ekonomik büyüme, ekonomik refahın en önemli belirleyicilerindendir. Ekonomik büyümeyi etkileyen faktörler arasında dış ticaret kritik bir rol oynamaktadır. Dış ticaretin önemi klasik iktisat öncesi dönemden bu yana vurgulanmıştır. İhracat artışı gerçekleştiğinde ekonomide faktör verimliliğindeki artıştan, ölçek ekonomilerinden ve pozitif dışsallıklardan elde edilen kazançlar artmakta, döviz sıkıntısı giderilerek ara ve yatırım malları ithalatı kolaylaşmakta ve yeni teknolojilerin sağlanması gibi geniş bir perspektiften ülke ekonomisini olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Ülkelerin kritik ihraç mal ürünlerinde uzmanlaşmaları ve ihraç mal gruplarını çeşitlendirmeleri son dönemde araştırmacıların üzerinde durduğu konulardan biri olarak dikkat çekmektedir. İhracat ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki geçmişten günümüze teorik ve uygulamalı literatürün tartıştığı temel konulardan biri olup bu çalışmada da ihracat ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki tartışmalar incelenerek sektörel ihracatın ekonomik büyümeye katkısı belirlenmeye çalışılacaktır. Bu çerçevede bu çalışmada tarım ve sanayi ihraç ürünlerinin Türkiye ekonomisinin büyümesine katkısını belirlemek amacıyla VAR ve Johansen Eş bütünleşme Analiz kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada bağımlı değişken olarak Kişi Başına Düşen GSYİH, bağımsız değişken olarak ise Gayri Safi Sermaye Oluşumu, İşgücüne Katılım Oranı, Ar-Ge Harcaması/GSYİH ve Tarım ve İmalat Sanayi İhracat verileri kullanılmıştır. Bu veriler Dünya Bankası ve TÜİK veri tabanlarından temin edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda tarım ve imalat sanayi ürünleri ihracatının ekonomik büyümeyi pozitif olarak etkilediği ancak sanayi ürünleri ihracatının ekonomik büyümeye katkısının daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.

The aim of this study is to analyze the profitability performances of the BIST manufacturing sub-sectors for the period 2019-2021 using multi-criteria decision making methods. Six profitability criteria consisting of financial ratios were determined and the profitability performances of seven sub-sectors were examined. The weights of the evaluation criteria were calculated with the CRITIC method, and the rankings were carried out using the VIKOR method. According to the results of the study the most important criteria for 2021 is return on equity, the least important criteria is the cost of sales/total revenue. While the most important criteria for 2020 is the gross profit margin, the least important one is the operating profit margin. For 2019, the most important criteria stands out as the operating profit margin, while the least important one is the net profit margin. It was determined that the Chemicals, Petroleum Rubber and Plastic Products sub-sector showed the highest profitability performance for all three years. The lowest performance was the Food, Beverage and Tobacco sub-sector in 2021, and the Non-Metallic Mineral Products in 2020 and 2019. This study differs from other studies in the literature in that it uses the CRITIC based VIKOR method. It is also one of the few studies comparing profitability performances of the manufacturing sub-sectors.
