Tunneling into Proximity Electrodes with Magnetic Impurities

Abstract: Starting from a model of classical spins a proximity electrode with magnetic impurities in the barrier-near layer is investigated theoretically. The rising differences to the common McMillan tunneling model (MTM), especially, the impurity band in the former gap region of the density of states provide significant changes in the tunneling properties of such a electrode, for example, in all current amplitudes of the Werthamer theory.
