“…From Table 1, the E onset follows the order: EP3<EP5<EP4<EP2<EP1. EP3 has the lowest onset potential due to the electron-donating substituent of -OCH 2 CH 3 which is in accordance with the phenomenon classified by Liou [50], while EP1, EP2 and EP4 all have higher onset potentials compared with EP5 indicating that the conjunction effect of their substituents plays an important role. The HO-MO energy levels of the investigated polymers are calculated from E onset by comparison with Fc/Fc + , whose redox potential is assumed to be an absolute energy level of -4.80 eV vs Table 1, we can see that the data of HOMO and LUMO obtained from experiments are close to those of calculation results.…”

“…P-hydroxybenzaldehyde was used as received; TDI, toluene and N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) were vacuum distilled before use; Lithium perchlorate (LiClO 4 ) was dried under vacuum at 120 °C for 36 h; 4,4'-diamino -4''-N-carbazolyl-triphenylamine, N,N-bis(4-aminophenyl)-N',N'-diphenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine, N'-(4-aminophenyl)-N'-(4-ethoxy) phenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine, N, N'-bis (4-aminophenyl)-N,N'-bis (α-naphthyl)-bisphenylenediamine, N'-(4 -aminophenyl) -N' -phenyl-1, 4 -phenylenediamine were synthesized according to the method described in the literature which had been reported [15,19,31,32] .…”

“…By taking the advantage of these features, PAM has potential applications in electronics, optoelectronics and photonics. Our group has carried out some studies on the design and synthesis of PAMs for multifunction of optical, electrochemical, acidochromic and electrochromic properties [14][15][16][17][18] .…”
