Tunable emission, energy transfer and charge compensation in SrMoO4:Sm3+,Tb3+,Na+ phosphor

Abstract: A series of SrMoO4:Sm(3+),Tb(3+),Na(+) phosphors was synthesized using a high-temperature solid-state reaction method in air. On excitation at 290 nm, SrMoO4:Sm(3+),Tb(3+) phosphor emitted light that varied systematically from green to reddish-orange on changing the Sm(3+) and Tb(3+) ion concentrations. The emission intensities of SrMoO4:Sm(3+) and SrMoO4:Sm(3+),Tb(3+) phosphors were increased two to four times due to charge compensation when Na(+) was added as a charge compensator. The luminescence mechanism … Show more

“…9 Different nanostructures of SrMoO 4 NPs have been applied in some areas, such as in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), 10 photocatalytic/photoelectrocatalytic activity, 11,12 and host materials in light-emitting phosphors. 13 However, there are only few reports on the use of SrMoO 4 as a chemical sensor material. 14,15 Thus, our effort was to synthesize nanosized, different shaped, highly ordered octahedral SrMoO 4 particles for the first time for electrochemical sensor applications in the catalytic oxidation of biogenic amine compounds.…”

“…Luminescent materials have attracted much attention because of their potential applications in many fields, including displays, solid‐state lighting and other photonic devices . The main group metal bismuth with a [ Xe ]4 f 14 5 d 10 6 s 2 6 p 3 electronic configuration is one of a number of green elements owing to its non‐carcinogenic and nontoxic properties .…”
