Tunable band-pass plasmonic waveguide filters with nanodisk resonators

Abstract: A novel and simple plasmonic filter based on metal-insulator-metal plasmonic waveguides with a nanodisk resonator is proposed and investigated numerically. By the resonant theory of disk-shaped nanocavity, we find that the resonance wavelengths can be easily manipulated by adjusting the radius and refractive index of the nanocavity, which is in good agreement with the results obtained by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations. In addition, the bandwidths of resonance spectra are tunable by changing t… Show more

“…The material-dependent constants ωp and γ are the bulk plasma and damping angular frequencies, respectively. The Drude parameters for silver can be assumed as ε∞ = 3.7, γ = 0.018eV, and ωp = 9.1eV [29]. We can solve Eqs.…”

“…as it is common in digital systems and includes a wide spectrum of frequency. In fact the proposed structure can play as a band-pass filter at the resonance wavelengths of the nanodisk [29]. Therefore, if we apply pulse sources, only the wavelengths corresponding to the resonance wavelengths can transmit to the outputs of the gates.…”

“…In previous works, by varying the outer dimensions of the structure, i.e. cavity length or radius, tunable filters were achieved [21][22][23]. But in this paper, we want to tune the resonant wavelengths of circular ring resonator plasmonic filters, without changing the outer size of the structure.…”
