Tumor renal en ectopia renal cruzada con fusión

Abstract: Crossed renal ectopia its a rare congenital malformation and in most cases it presents with fusion of both kidneys. Patients should be asynptomatic until 4a-5a decade and at that time they unfold urinary infection, urolithiasis, abdominal mass or pain that simulates a gastric disease. We report a case of renal cell carcinoma in a patient with crossed fused renal ectopia, showed in a Scan that was performed for gastric disease suspicion.

“…There are some case reports of renal cell carcinoma and Wilms tumorassociated CFRE. 14,15 In our patient CFRE creates external compression to the intestinal wall and may cause increased visceral hypersensitivity to result in IBS-D type symptoms which were managed accordingly and planned for further follow-up. To our best knowledge, it is the first case report that demonstrates CFRE was found during the evaluation of altered bowel habits for a prolonged period.…”

“…Because one or both ectopic kidneys may be located at an unusual position, there is an increased risk for the development of complications such as stone formation, urinary tract infection, and tumors 11 . Cases of renal cell carcinoma, renal tumor, and Wilm’s tumor in crossed fused renal ectopia have been reported 12 16 . An ectopic kidney can even be donated for kidney transplantation when the function of the other kidney is normal.…”
