Abstract:Okinawa prefecture is at risk for emerging infectious diseases due to its subtropical climate and its location within the Indo-Pacific region. Understanding the existing vectors and infectious agents contextualizes current threats, guides treatment, and informs prevention, and may be of unique concern in the setting of complex emergencies.
