“…A similar scheme was applied to the Buffadero Member of the Gibraltar Limestone ). More recently, Fugagnoli (2004) recorded that the Hettangian-early Sinemurian interval belongs to his Dasyclades Zone, early most late Sinemurian to?Lituosepta recoarensis zone, while the lower part of the Sinemurian and early Pliensbachian belongs to the Orbitopsella zone and finally the late Pliensbachian belongs to the Planisepta compressa zone. On the other hand, the Toarcian is dominated by forms with internal radial partitions (e.g.…”

“…These small foraminifera were widespread on the platform and have been considered as very tolerant (Septfontaine, 1984;Fugagnoli, 2004). They occur in marginal environments (oligohaline, with terrestrial influx) and in deeper marine environments that reflect elevated levels of organic carbon influx (Rettori, 1995), and with high rates of micritic production (Fugagnoli, 2004). The presence of these small foraminifera, with the complete absence of larger forms, points to a stressed environment or an ecosystem that suffered severe environmental fluctuations.…”

“…Recently, Neri et al (2016) described the first amber from this formation. The Rotzo Formation has been dated, based on foraminifera, ammonites, green algae and isotopic analyses ( 13 C and 87 Sr/ 86 Sr), to the Pliensbachian (Avanzini et al 2006;Fugagnoli 2004;Posenato and Masetti 2012;Franceschi et al 2014). …”

“…The assemblage consists of species, that may be considered opportunists (see FuGaGnoli, 2004;BoudaGHer-Fadel, 2008), e.g. M. asiagoensis, Siphovalvulina spp., and Triassic survivors, e.g.…”
