Triple-Phase-Shift Control Strategy for Full-Bridge Three-Level (FBTL) DC/DC Converter

Abstract: This paper proposes a triple-phase-shift (TPS) control strategy for the full-bridge three-level (FBTL) DC/DC converter to reduce the voltage stress and harmonics on the transformer. The proposed control strategy is composed of three phase-shift delays to keep the maximum voltage changes (ΔV) on the transformer's primary side at only half of the input voltage (Vin/2), which is different from the conventional control strategies causing the higher voltage changes with value of Vin. Therefore, the proposed control… Show more

“…The power throughput of a DAB converter is controlled by the voltage across its transformer leakage inductance. For modulation and control of a DAB converter, a number of modulation strategies have been proposed in the past [27,28,29,30,31,32,33,11]. Among them, the single phase-shift (SPS) control based modulation is the most widely used one.…”

“…Besides, there is another kind of control strategy that does not rely on the PID controller. For example, a three-phase phase-shift (TPS) control strategy is proposed for the full-bridge three-level (FBTL) DC/DC converter [10], a dual phase-shift control method widely used in the DC-DC converter [11,12], and active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) technology which has been applied to the field of switching power supply [13,14]. e ADRC control strategy is similar to the control strategy used in this paper.…”

“…In this paper, a triple-phase-shift (TPS) modulation strategy is proposed for the diode-clamped FB TL-IDC as an extension of our previous work [29]. High voltage changes with the value of the full input voltage on the transformer occur under the conventional strategies, but the proposed strategy can maximum value of these voltage changes at only half of the input voltage (V in /2).…”
