Tripartite motif-containing protein 6 facilitates growth and migration of breast cancer through degradation of STUB1

Abstract: Proteins in the tripartite motif-containing protein (TRIM) family participates in carcinogenesis. However, little attention was focused on the role of TRIM6 on development of breast cancer. Expression level of TRIM6 was found to be markedly enhanced in breast cancer cells and tissues. Functional assays demonstrated that overexpression of TRIM6 promoted breast cancer progression through increase of YAP1 (Yes-associated Protein 1), while knockdown of TRIM6 suppressed in vitro breast cancer progression and in viv… Show more

“…The expression levels of NEAT1 (LC_S149) and NEAT1 (LC_S216) in LUAD tissues were significantly decreased ( Figure 10 ). Figure 11 shows that NEAT1 overexpression in LUAD tissues was related to dismal prognosis of LUAD patients via meta-analysis ( 14 - 19 ). The constructed TRIM6 network mechanism provides a new regulatory mechanism for LUAD progression ( Figure S6 ).…”

“…The tripartite motif containing 6 (TRIM6) also plays a crucial role in carcinogenesis (13)(14)(15). It is upregulated in colorectal cancer (CRC) and its expression level is an independent predictor of dismal prognosis in CRC patients.…”

“…TRIM6, TRIM11, TRIM18 (MID1), TRIM24, TRIM28, TRIM31, TRIM59 and TRIM66 were reported oncogenes while TRIM16, TRIM37, TRIM45 were reported tumor suppressors in different types of cancers. 3,11,[33][34][35] TRIM52 was reported oncogene in ovarian cancer, 36 hepatocellular carcinoma, 37 but tumor suppressor in glioma. 38 To investigate the role these TRIMs play in HCC, we analyzed the correlation of the gene expressions with pathological stage and survival.…”

“…The overexpression of TRIM6 in LUAD tissues indicated a poor prognosis [ 63 ]. TRIM6 accelerated the growth and metastasis of breast cancer [ 64 ] and colorectal cancer [ 65 , 66 ]. UHRF1 is a novel diagnostic marker of lung cancer, UHRF1 controls the cell cycle by silencing tumor suppressor genes, and the overexpressed UHRF1 was related to the poor survival of NSCLC patients [ 67 , 68 , 69 ].…”
