Trifluoromethylated 3‐(Pyrazol‐1‐yl)propanamide (PPA) Ligands

Abstract: The new PPA ligands 3-[5-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]propanamide (CF 3 MePPA; 3) and 3-[3,5bis(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]propanamide ((CF 3) 2 PPA; 4) were synthesized by Aza-Michael addition of the specific pyrazole derivatives to acrylamide. Both products were characterized by elemental analyses, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. X-Ray structure determination of 3 revealed the presence of a onedimensional hydrogen-bonded structure in the solid state. The ligating ability o… Show more

“…The planes of guanine fragments are significantly rotated relative to the plane perpendicular to the direction determined by the practically linear grouping Cl1-Pd1-Cl2. The torsion angles Cl2-Pd1-N19-C14 of 57.05 • and Cl2-Pd1-N9-C4 of −60.32 • differ greatly from 90 • as in similar compounds [41][42][43]. However, in this case, the planes of both ligands almost coincide (angle (plane normal-plane normal): 3.000 • ), which is obviously due to H-bonding with the outer-sphere chloride ion.…”

“…Previously, only a few compounds similar to ours were described. Complexes are described in the literature in which the Pd atom is bound by a Pd-N bond with an organic ligand [41][42][43][44]. But in almost all works, electrically neutral complexes are obtained.…”

“…Functionally substituted pyrazole ring is a structural unit of natural compounds [1] and modern medicines with a lower number of side effects [2,3]; pyrazole derivatives exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activity [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] and are used to obtain mixed-ligand coordination compounds necessary for homogeneous catalysis [10]. Some 4(2)-[alkyl(aryl)sulfanylmethyl]substituted 1H-pyrazoles were found to inhibit N-myris toyl transferase [11] and α-amylase [12] and act as progesterone receptor antagonists [13], antioxidants [14], fungicides [15], and efficient and selective extractants and ligands in the synthesis of sulfur-containing platinum(II) and palladium(II) complexes [16][17][18].…”
