Airplanes are one of the most frequently used forms of transportation globally. The aircraft's ability to mobilize between continents and its near-sound speed makes it an excellent cross-country travel choice. This paper discussed the production process of D-nose panel components for A-350 airplane wing in PT. Dirgantara Indonesia. PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) or commonly referred to as PTDI, is one of the aircraft companies in Asia with core competencies in aircraft design and development, aircraft structure manufacturing, aircraft production, and aircraft services for civil and military from light and medium aircraft. The main components of the aircraft consist of the engine, propeller (power plant), fuselage, wing, tail (empennage) and landing gear. The components that make up the wing of the aircraft consist of a fuel tank, wing flap, spar, aileron, skin, ribs, stringer, wingtip, as well as external parts such as the D-nose panel. The process from beginning to end of the D-nose panel component requires several stages. Finally, this process also checks data from existing component documents and ends with the final stamp as a sign that the entire process for making the D-nose panel component has been completed.

To improve the application and use value of Palm Oil Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) waste as a composite material, the research team conducted research related to the utilization OPEFB fiber as an alternative material to replace carbon fiber in the manufacture of fuselage of Unmaned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The low price of OPEFB, low of specific density and it’s abundant availability are the basis of research to apply it’s fiber as material of UAV fuselage. This research begins with the processing of OPEFB into fiber through an alkali treatment process. Furthermore, the process of maleated natural rubber as a mixture of resin matrix. Afterward, the fuselage is molded use hybrid fiberglass-OPEFB fiber and resin epoxy that has been mixed with natural rubber. Fuselage of UAV is also molded with material of hybrid fiberglass-fibercarbon. Based on mass measurements, the fuselage of hybrid fiberglass-OPEFB fiber material and the fuselage of hybrid fiberglass-carbon fiber material have a mass of 510 grams and 540 grams respectively. For deflection measurement, fuselage of hybrid fiberglass-OPEFB fiber material has a maximum deflection as 2.01 mm, while the fuselage of hybrid fiberglass-fibercarbon material has a maximum deflection as 1.19 mm. In statis impact test, the two fuselage are able to withstand shock load.

The purpose of this research is to obtain a design and prototype of quadcopter’s frame, which be developed further as a quadcopter that capable of carrying payload of 1.5 kg with flight time of more than 20 minutes. The design begins with estimating the values of Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW), required thrust, propeller dimensions, and wheelbase dimensions of the quadcopter. The results show the MTOW of the quadcopter was 5 kg, with each motor requiring of 2.5 kg of thrust per arm. The wheelbase dimension was 790 mm, and the propeller diameter of 17 inches. A wheelbase dimension was utilized to develop three conceptual frame designs for the quadcopter. The three conceptual designs were selected using a decision matrix table. The selected design was calculated for its structural strength by applying a load of 2.5 kg on each motor mounting. The results show the maximum stress value of 21.17 MPa, the maximum deflection of 3.5 mm, and safety factor of 22.44. Then, the prototype of quadcopter’s frame was manufactured. Therefore, the producing of prototype was measured the mass and deflection. Based on the measurements conducted, the quadcopter frame has an actual mass of 595 grams and a maximum deflection of 3.7 mm. The actual deflection value and the actual mass are close to the deflection and mass obtained from the calculation.
