Triconstituent Coassembly to Mesoporous Carbon and Its Application to the Enhancement of CO2 Storage in the Presence of Water

Abstract: Mesoporous carbon materials were synthesized via the triconstituent Co-assembly of resol, tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), and pluronic F127, followed by the process of polymerization. The synthesized mesoporous carbons exhibit uniform large pore sizes (3.6−6.2 nm), high surface area (940−1310 m 2 /g), and large pore volume (1.16−1.71 m 3 /g). Adsorption isotherms of CO 2 on sample MC2 were measured at 275 K with various amounts of water preadsorbed. The highest CO 2 sorption capacity reaches about 51.8 mmol/g … Show more

“…N 2 adsorption test was measured to investigate the void structure of catalysts, and the Nitrogen sorption‐desorption isotherms of the catalyst are shown in Figure 2b and Figure S4. The hysteresis loop of adsorption‐desorption isotherm can be obviously observed in Figure 2d, and the isotherm is type IV with hysteresis loops, indicating that CoPc/MC has mesoporous structure [16] …”

“…The hysteresis loop of adsorption-desorption isotherm can be obviously observed in Figure 2d, and the isotherm is type IV with hysteresis loops, indicating that CoPc/MC has mesoporous structure. [16] The electrocatalysts with different microporous structures are revealed by their pore size distribution (Figure S5), the surface area and pore size data of the prepared catalysts are summarized in Table 1. The results show that CoPc/CB has much larger surface area and pore size than others.…”

“…Both hard and soft templates (silica and Poloxamer 407) were adopted to make pores and adjust the pore dimensions of the final mesoporous biochar products (Su et al 2017). A certain amount of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.4, 3.0, and 4.0 Adsorption performance mL), 3.0 mL of 0.2 mol/L HCl solution, and 12.0 mL of deionized water were added together in a conical flask and stirred for 5 h at room temperature and 300 rpm.…”
