The state of health of children is one of the indicators of the quality of the environment, social well-being and the level of health of the country. The purpose of this study was to assess the physical development of children and adolescents. To assess the physical development of children and adolescents living in Yakutsk and the central regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). 1,305 children aged 8-15 years old were examined. Physical development was investigated using anthropometry and handgrip test according to generally accepted methods. The following results were obtained: according to anthropometry, modern schoolchildren have secondary physical development. According to our data 11, 12-year-old girls are higher than boys of the same age, and from the age of 14 the body length of boys exceeds the body length of girls. Body weight indicators do not have reliable differences in gender, however, at the age of 13, the body weight of Russian boys is significantly more than the body weight of Yakut boys. Russian girls have higher power opportunities in all age categories than Yakut girls. The power capabilities of Russian boys of prepubertal age belong to high values of physical development. The level of dynamometry in all age categories belongs to the 90centile corridor, which indicates high physical development in girls of Russian nationality. For girls of Yakut nationality, only at the age of 10 and 12, power capabilities are higher than average values. Thus, children of Russian nationality living in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), functional indicators (handgrip test) exceed average values.

A health-preserving environment in educational institutions is extremely important for the preservation and strengthening of the physical and mental health of children, for the formation of a healthy lifestyle, and also contributes to the growth of the human potential of society. The purpose of this work is to analyze the problems and prospects of health saving in educational organizations of the Vologda Oblast based on the data of an expert survey of managers and specialists in the field of health and education conducted by specialists of the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences within the framework of the project "Studying the conditions for the formation of a healthy generation". Among the main risk factors for children's health, experts call improper and irregular nutrition, increased academic load, reduced motor activity in the fresh air, and a fascination with gadgets. In general, specialists in the fields of education and health care consider their interaction in matters of improving the health of pupils and pupils sufficient and effective. However, during the interview, a number of shortcomings were revealed in the system of health care for children in schools and kindergartens: the absence of a permanent medical worker (pediatrician, paramedic, nurse); the lack of narrow specialists (psychologist, speech pathologist, speech therapist, physical therapy instructor, etc.); the elimination of the practice of dental examinations; violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules in terms of the use of equipment (in particular ophthalmologists); insufficient continuity of information about the neuropsychiatric development of the child upon admission to school; insufficiency of specific prevention, lack of comprehensive practice-oriented programs for health care and "health lessons". A number of organizational, personnel, regulatory, informational, methodological, material and technical conditions for improving the efficiency of health saving in educational institutions are also presented.

Physical development of adolescent boys studying in cadet school

Introduction. According to the results of available studies, health status of cadets is often higher than in general population, however, data shows unfavorable trends in the physical development of cadet boys.Aim. Analysis of cadets' physical development.Materials and methods. 122 cadet boys aged 12-15 were included in the study using the continuous sampling method. All children underwent anthropometry, bioimpedance analysis and measurement of the functional state of the body. The results were evaluated in accordance with centile chart.Results and discussion. The majority of children (80 - 65.6%) had 1st health group. The most common pathology was refraction disorders (14 - 11.5%) and urological pathology (9 - 7.4%). Height of the majority of the examined boys was in the average values, however, short stature was found out in 4 (3.3%) cases. According to BMI, 4.9% (6) of children were underweight, 32.0% (39) - overweight and 4.1% (5) had obesity. According to percentage of fat mass by bioimpedance analysis, 4.1% (5) were underweight, 27.0% (33) - overweight and 22.1% (27) were obese. Muscle strength values below the average were in 11.5% (14) of boys, and muscle strength by kg of weight - in 36.1% (44). Almost a third (33 - 27.0%) of children had high blood pressure, and another 10 people (8.2%) had arterial hypertension. According to the results of the Martinet-Kushelevsky test, nine children had pathological type of reaction to dosed physical activity. Low resistance to anaerobic exercise by Genchi test was found in 19.7% (24) of children. The results of the coordination test showed unsatisfactory results in the majority of children - 48.4% (59).Conclusion. Physical development of adolescent boys studying in the cadet corps was average. High percentage of boys, although less, then in general population, were overweight and obese. Despite seemingly optimal nutrition, daily routine and physical activity provided in cadet corps, 20% of children had low resistance to anaerobic exercise, low strength index and non-physiological response of the cardiovascular system to dosed physical activity.
