Trend Analysis and Prediction on Water Consumption in Southwestern Ethiopia

Abstract: This study intensively examined the monthly water consumption forecasting performance using advanced time series (ARIMA) models. Thus, this study intends to identify the appropriate ARIMA models to best fit the water consumption data in Southwestern Ethiopia Tepi town and forecast water consumption effectively in the city. The data used for this study was the monthly water consumption in Tepi town from January 2016 to December 2021.The data were converted to returns to enhance their statistical properties and … Show more

“…In the ROC curve, the criteria generally used in the evaluation are sensitivity, general accuracy, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value. By using Figure 4 , the limit values of the tests for these criteria can be determined [ 23 28 ]. Sensitivity (%): It shows what percentage of people known to have the disease can be diagnosed with the recommended method.…”

“…To implement data augmentation, a function was defined in such a way that it would return the instance to the ImageDataGenerator class configured to perform transformations on the data. Taking into account previous articles that analyzed chest X-ray images [10,[17][18][19][20][21], the following transformations were defined: (i) A random rotation within the range of -5/+5 degrees (ii) A random horizontal and vertical shift of 5% (iii) A random increase range of 15% (iv) A random distortion along an axis of 0.1 degrees creates or rectifies the angles of perception (v) A padding to keep the size of the input images constant, mirroring neighboring pixels to fill in the gaps with missing pixels…”

“…In our case, only 20 epochs have been made for the initial model and 30 for the optimized model. This difference in 9 BioMed Research International epochs is due to the lack of adequate equipment to make a model that compiles quickly and efficiently, saving time for the researcher [23][24][25][26].…”
