Several approaches have emerged to support the development of mobile web applications (apps). Front-end frameworks (FeF) have emerged to support developers in the construction of responsive mobile web apps. However, these frameworks do not provide resources to handle easily variables of the context of use and to deal with different modalities of interaction. Considering this gap, we proposed the HyMobWeb, an approach that assists developers in working with these aspects. By grasping the popularity of the FeFs, HyMobWeb proposes a flexible and reusable approach based on FeF structure. It works with a hybrid approach that treats the adaptation in two phases. The static one, performed in the development time, allows developers to implement the resources of adaptation. The dynamic one performs the adaptation during the run-time. In this article, we present the HyMobWeb dynamic adaptation approach. As end-users are the receivers of the dynamic adaptation our evaluation was carried out in the perspective of this audience. The results showed that the adaptations regarding the context of use were the ones that presented more impact on the user experience. We concluded that the HyMobWeb dynamic adaptation provides ways to enhance user interaction in mobile web apps when compared with RWD resources.

In this paper, we present the Physical Web Browser project for web applications depending on the environment. At this moment, many of users all over the world visit websites using their mobile devices only. Any mobile device (e.g., smartphone) has sensors to capture the environmental information. This information (context) could be analyzed and used within the web applications. There are, at least, two models for using this information. Firstly, we can use context information for data gathering requests in a web application. In this case, the output depends on the context. It is the classical model for context-aware data retrieval. In the second model, we can use context-aware data for improving user experience (for changing and tuning user interfaces). In other words, we present a way for the adaptation of web applications depending on the environment.

Vehicles saturation in transportation infrastructure causes traffic congestion, accidents, transportation delays and environment pollution. This problem can be resolved with proper management of traffic flow. Existing traffic management systems are challenged on capturing and processing real-time road data from wide area road networks. The main purpose of this study is to address the gap by implementing a mobile phone based Road Information Management System. The proposed system integrates three modules for data collection, storage and information dissemination. The modules works together to enable real-time traffic control. Disseminated information from the system, enables road users to adjust their travelling habit, also it allows the traffic lights to control the traffic in relation to the real-time situation occurring on the road. In this paper the system implementation and testing was performed. The results indicated that there is a possibility to track traffic data using Global Positioning System enabled mobile phones, and after processing the collected data, real-time traffic status was displayed on web interface. This enabled road users to know in advance the situation occurring on the roads and hence make proper travelling decision. Further research should consider adjusting the traffic lights control system to understand the disseminated real-time traffic information.
