“…Although the place of statins in primary prevention for CHD has been questioned (Ray et al 2010), secondary prevention is effective, and statins reduce mortality among those who have suffered atherosclerotic cardiovascular events (Vrecer et al 2003) and among type 2 diabetics [Cholesterol Treatment Trialists' (CTT) Collaborators et al 2008].
