“…In addition to this, Dominaik et al (30) used PRP + xenogenic bone graft although on a different typology of defects (ie, four wall endodontic defects also highlighted the significance of PRP over the GTR). Subsequently, Taschieri et al (15) also used the combination of autologous growth factors with xenogenic bone grafts in the treatment of through and through bone lesions and interpreted that the addition of growth factors to an organic bovine bone resulted in fast and predictable hard-and soft-tissue healing.…”

“…PRP is much easier to manipulate, is easily secured in place, is inexpensive, produces no inflammatory reaction, and decreases the frequency of intraoperative and postoperative bleeding. This autologous product also eliminates the concern about immunogenic reactions and disease transmission as compared with GTR membrane (bovine origin) and graft materials (15,17,39).…”

“…Moreover, the literature contains a case report that shows the treatment of a through-and-through bone lesion with autologous growth factors and xenogeneic bone graft (11). Addition of growth factor to the graft material improved the regenerative process, resulting in rapid hard and soft tissue healing (11).…”

“…Addition of growth factor to the graft material improved the regenerative process, resulting in rapid hard and soft tissue healing (11). We used no growth factors, therefore rapid and meaningful hard tissue healing was not observed.…”
