Finally, ergotamine was significantly better tolerated when its side-effects have been at least partially prevented by the administration of muscle relaxants (meprobamate) and antiemetics, such as chlorcyclizine 10 . In double blind trials (unpublished) we have shown conclusively that 9-(N-methyl pi-peridyden 4') thioxanthen, called 'BP 400 Sandoz', is most effective in preventing nausea and vomiting in combination with ergotamine.…”
