“…Limiting soft tissue irritation and providing earlier wrist motion, this technique may be an alternative to known methods for unstable fractures. Several devices were introduced with promising outcomes in treatment of extra-articular and simple intra-articular distal radius fractures [7][8][9][10]. However, to our knowledge, there has been no comparative clinical study reporting outcomes regarding the use of Sonoma Wrx (Sonoma Orthopedic Products, Santa Rosa, CA) in treatment of extra-articular and simple intraarticular distal radius fractures.…”

“…Capo et al reported clinical and radiological results of intramedullary nailing for distal radius malunion in a series of 13 patients. 15 They mentioned that intramedullary nailing provided good stability of the corrected bone fragments with no correction loss by comparing the final post-operative radiographs to the immediate post-operative radiographs. In our study, we also detected no correction loss on post-operative radiographic evaluation, even though the patients were immediately encouraged to perform wrist and finger range-of-motion exercises without wearing any splints post-operatively.…”

“…The ability to carry out closed reduction, effectively maintaining bone fragment stability and good alignment of the distal radioulnar joint is a key issue. In recent years, many surgeons prefer to use external fixation plus metaphyseal bone grafting to treat distal radius bone fractures [8,9,10] , such as leverage reduction and bone graft. intramedullary implant with bone graft, insert pin with bone graft etc, and this technique has achieved satisfactory results.…”
