Abstract:Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory arthropathy of young adults which primarily affects the axial skeleton. The pathogenesis of AS is unclear, but it is thought to be caused by an early inflammatory phase followed by ossification that may induce local osteitis.
