Travelling Wave Solutions for the Unsteady Flow of a Third Grade Fluid Induced Due to Impulsive Motion of Flat Porous Plate Embedded in a Porous Medium

Abstract: This work describes the time-dependent flow of an incompressible third grade fluid filling the porous half space over an infinite porous plate. The flow is induced due to the motion of the porous plate in its own plane with an arbitrary velocity V(t). Translational type symmetries are employed to perform the travelling wave reduction into an ordinary differential equation of the governing nonlinear partial differential equation which arises from the laws of mass and momentum. The reduced ordinary differential … Show more

“…[1][2][3] Several analytic and numerical studies have been conducted to study the characteristics of Newtonian as well as non-Newtonian fluid flows. [4][5][6] Also numerous experimental and numerical studies have been carried out for the flow past inline circular cylinders; some representative works are those of Zdravkovich, 7 Williamson, 8 Mizushima and Suehiro, 9 Sumner et al, 10 and Lam et al 11 These researchers found that the gap spacing between cylinders play an important role because it strongly affects the flow patterns and also flow induced forces.…”

“…For more information, some of studies in the MHD flow studies can be found in Refs. (Masood et al 1996;Shehzad and Ali 2012;Aziz 2014). Nonlinear problems and phenomena play an important role in applied mathematics, physics, engineering and other branches of science specially some heat transfer equations.…”
