Travelling in Macedonia in the Eve of the Greek Revolution European Travellers in Imathia

Abstract: The present paper refers to the phenomenon of “Travelling” in Macedonia during the pre-revolutionary years of the Greek War of Independence. The study focuses on the area of Imathia revealing- through the travel literature- important information in reference to the towns of Naoussa and Veroia shortly before the outbreak of the revolutionary movement in the area in the spring of 1822.
