Transport and spectroscopic properties of superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor junctions of La1.9Sr0.1CuO

Abstract: Transport and Conductance spectra measurements of ramp-type junctions made of cuprate superconducting La 1.9 Sr 0.1 CuO 4 electrodes and a manganite ferromagnetic La 0.67 Ca 0.33 M nO 3 barrier are reported. At low temperatures below T c , the conductance spectra show Andreev-like broad peaks superposed on a tunneling-like background, and sometimes also sub-gap Andreev resonances. The energy gap values ∆ found from fits of the data ranged mostly between 7-10 mV. As usual, the gap features were suppressed under … Show more

“…Although at low temperatures the manganite LSMO is in a ferromagnetic state, the superconducting current can still flow across thin layers of ferromagnet according to Refs. 4,5,[8][9][10][11]. To test this prediction, we investigated the influence of strong magnetic fields on the shape of the R(T)-transition in the samples of MgB 2 and the composite.…”

“…For instance, the proximity effect in hybrid film structures LSMO-YBCO has been demonstrated by scanning tunneling spectroscopy. [8][9][10][11] The appearance of the proximity effect and the coherent state of ferromagnetic LSMO manganite in the junctions of the LSMO-superconductor (Pb, Nb, MgB 2 ) type has been observed in experiments on Andreev reflection. [12][13][14] Besides the spectroscopic manifestations of the proximity effect in superconductor-manganite junctions, there are numerous studies of the superconducting current transport in hybrid film structures of the superconductor-manganite-superconductor type.…”
