Abstract: The relative phase of the applied lights has been used to explore the position dependence of the transmitted and reflected light from a defective dielectric medium. The duplicated two-level atomic system that makes up the dielectric medium interacts with a position-dependent standing wave (SW) coupling light and a weak probe laser field.
