“…Consistent with the constructs highlighted in the tripartite influence model of body image and eating disturbance, the most recent version of the scale, the SATAQ‐4, sought to assess internalization of appearance ideals relevant to men (i.e., the muscular ideal via the Internalization: Muscular/Athletic subscale) and women (i.e., the thin ideal via the Internalization: Thin/Low Body Fat subscale), as well as appearance pressures emanating from peers, family, and media via the Pressures: Peers, Pressures: Family, and Pressures: Media subscales.
