“…The importance of marriage in addition to the fact that Roma women bear children at a young age (child mothers) can contrast with life aspirations in terms of education, the labor market and economic independence. The majority of the women we interviewed (all of them Roma women involved in civil society organizations) have tried to break with this stereotypical image, in greater or lesser measure, reclaiming an active role in denouncing different sources of discrimination by sex, ethnicity, social class and gender [31].
