Transition of rate mechanism from internal nitriding to rapid nitriding mechanism at 12.5 mol%Cr in austenitic Fe-Cr-Ni alloy system

Abstract: Transition from internal nitriding to rapid nitriding at 12.5 mol% Cr in austenitic Fe-Cr-Ni alloy system is investigated from a Cr skeleton model based on atomic arrangement of Cr atoms in the alloys. The rapid nitriding is observed above the 12.5 mol% Cr of alloys. Kinetics of the rapid nitriding is only performed at local space of 25.0 mol% Cr in the alloys. The kinetics is discussed as a kind of lasering in thermodynamic system.
