“…Trans-iliac bypass is reported only infrequently in the literature, but appears to be a safe approach with acceptable patency 2, 3, 4, 5. Proximal anastomosis to the aorta 2 or the common iliac artery3, 4, 5 is preferred to avoid kinking of the graft. If required, the distal anastomosis can reach as far as the tibial artery 2 by lateral exposure.…”

“…The distal anastomosis was realized with a clod stored venous graft to the retro articular popliteal artery by an external access. The patient presented favourable outcomes with rapid discharge and cicatrisation of the necrosis toes with a pedis palpable pulse. We checked the cicatrisation and the patency at three month with persistence of the pedis palpable pulse.Trans iliac bypass are not a well-known technic to treat groin infection and are rarely described in the literature 2,3,4,5 . However this approach is easy to performed and had good patency 2,3,4,5 .…”

However this approach is easy to performed and had good patency 2,3,4,5 . This case is the first in the literature to describe a distal anastomosis to the popliteal artery by external access, but this approach seems to be a better access for this bypass allowing a more direct and short implantation.…”
