Transient Simulation of Permanent Magnet Dc Commutator Motors Using the Finite Element Approach

Abstract: The transient performance of permanent magnet dc commutator motors has been simulated using a two dimensional finite element model. The simulations of start‐up characteristics and braking conditions are concentrated on.
